bc002k
Do any of you own a keyboard with 'vintage' sounds on there? I know a lot of companies will try to recreate things like Mellotron Strings/Flutes, Hammond Organ, etc. Are there any that sound really convincing? bc002k
Cool thanks.. Does anyone know, could I buy the Kurzweil PC2 Rack, and just use my Yamaha Digital Piano as a controller for it? It's $1000 cheaper that way, and the Yamaha piano is really nice as is..it just has a really dinky assortment of sounds. Are there any drawbacks to just having the rack version? ProfD
Yes, you can use the Yamaha digital piano providing it has MIDI I/O as a controller for the PC2 rack. You will have to check the MIDI capabilities of the Yamaha DP. A few drawbacks are: The DP may provide very limited MIDI control and no editing of the rack unit The rack unit is dependent upon keyboard for use These are non-issues if it's just a plug and play operation. Good luck and welcome to the forum. PD "The greatest thing you'll ever learn, is just to love and be loved in return."--E. Prague
I'd just get rid of the Yamaha and get the Kurzweil PC-2. It will easily keep you busy for the next 5 years, if not longer. Splits, layers, and all other Master Controller functions are easily handled.
