DafDuc Posted September 29, 2006 Share Posted September 29, 2006 Our local banjo mart is dumping these for $270ish. Apparently folks haven't been happy with the volume levels. I almost bought one without testing it, salesman (bless his heart) suggested I try it first. I was okay with the low level, but the tone threw me. VERY boxy. I was using a CP33 - fortunately had already checked out the sound through whatever their default monitor was (the 33 is now on my short list) - fine through the GT except the aco pianos, which were awful. I could make it a little better playing with the brightness, but finally walked away - my powered Peavey PA speaker (and why didn't these get reviewed in KM this month?) sounded way better. The GT was more portable, but not worth the tradeoff. Salesman will reap his reward, too. Bought a copy of Drumagog last night, and am ordering a Fusion 6HD, GPO Big Band, and (maybe) a VP-550 from him. They've stopped stocking the Fusion at GC - apparently not moving. Too bad, Fusion's a good board. I played in an 8 piece horn band. We would often get bored. So...three words: "Tower of Polka." - Calumet Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
