captainmri
Well, my trip to Vegas was cool, but perhaps the coolest part was in Tussaud's wax museum in the Venetian. We stroll into the music section and here's Stevie Wonder playing some big Yamaha organ or something (or so I thought). Ohhhhhh, no...GX-1! I think I remember reading that it was donated to the museum, but, whew...who cares about some wax dummy when you can climb up on MUSIC HISTORY, BABY?!??!? Next time I'm taking an extension cord and some headphones. chip

mate stubb
And you are going to shove wax Stevie off the bench? Was the instrument real? Moe ---
captainmri
Stevie was wax for sure. At least he didn't giggle when I tickled him. That GX-1 was the realio dealio. It had a couple of broken keys but it was authentic. Looked like a slightly roughed-up version of this one... http://www.pinballswanted.com/yamahagx-1.html chip
mate stubb
So let me get this straight, they have a REAL GX-1 the pinnacle of polyphonic analog synthesizer development, and they are using it to hold up a wax dummy? That's just... sick. Moe ---
Marzzz
Offer to buy it from the museum....or trade it for a harmonica....!
Bob Stiffler
Captainmri: Take a look at the "museum" button at the "Electone Zone" site on the net for a bit about the Yamaha GX-1...I have a couple of Yamaha HX-1 Electones that are 15 years old, and still generate unbelieveable sounds.
