I'll consider, but despite your kindness, it does almost feels like charity. Oh well. Thanks for the additional opportunity.

meccajay, it's true that we have many kind and generous forum members here. (You're one of them, by the way.) But, think of it this way - if you don't return, whoever wins will have had his victory tainted by the fact that he won in part by a technicality because you were knocked of the pool by Ivan rather than by a bad choice. Therefore, if you decide to return, you'd be giving (all of us a fair contest) as well as receiving; and what's better than that?

Best,

Geoff

I'm glad meccajay is back in, what with Ivan and all. Fair is fair. That said, can I get back in, too? I mean, come on... the Bears beating the Packers? Does that not also qualify as an "Act of God"? :D At a minimum, you'd have to classify it as a rift in the space-time continuum. Further evidence of a rift: The Lions are 2-0. :freak:

Act of God? Probably. But no more an act of God that causes carnage in this pool every year. :D

That said, I'll take Atlanta for Week 3.

From ESPN:

Speaking of gambling theories, here's another one that I missed with Green Bay last week: The Suicide Pool Theory. Anytime someone looks like an obvious Suicide Pool Pick, be afraid. Be very afraid. I'm not saying the Seahawks are destined for an upset this week. I'm just saying.

Eagles for me too, though it's not the gimme it looks like; Philly is #24 in D, 15.3PA and Chicago is #12 in O, 19.7PF. More than a 3 point swing in those stats is usually a yellow flag-level concern, watch for a collapse in the Phily secondary and a simultaneous good game from Warner.

Can I have the over in the GB game instead? :D

Cheers!

I'm doing some travelling the next couple of weeks so I'm going to go ahead and pick the next two weeks in case I don't find my way back to this forum while on the road.

If I get a chance I may sign on and update my second pick -- if I survive -- after this weekend's games. We'll see.

Week 4: Philadelphia

Week 5: Indianapolis

I think it would have been cool to do a survivor-style pick one game a week, but do the whole season before the season, just to see how well you do at the end... Too late now...

Cheers!

I've done those. They're so impossible predict in preseason that I find it's much more luck than skill to win.

Before the season started, would you have used a KC pick in the first few weeks, perhaps? Or maybe taken Denver over Jacksonville in week 2? Or - ahem - Green Bay over Chicago? It's hard enough to pick week by week toward the beginning of a season!

I think I'd be afraid to try to pick all of them at the beginning of the year...

Oh, I'll take Philadelphia for Week 4.
