Bunny,
Tough call.. especially if you're mainly into alternative. Love songs that a guy would want to hear? I don't think they exist honey! :D Do you have any songs on the list so far, or have you heard anything that you envision being on it? This will give us a better idea of what to suggest. patrick_dont_fret
Well, I dunno about alternative love songs, but if a girl gave me a CD full of Van Morrison, I'd know she was mine forever. That and anything Widespread, Phish, or String Cheese, which don't have any (that I'm aware of) love songs. But that's just me.
Rim
Not sure all are really love songs and not all are alternative, but more in the mellow side and guy-friendly (IMO): "Black" - Pearl Jam "High and Dry" - Radiohead "Tangerine" - Led Zeppelin "Burning For You" - Blue Oyster Cult "In Your Eyes" - Peter Gabriel aka riffing Double Post music: Strip Down http://rimspeed.com http://loadedtheband.com

GZsound
And you have to put "Feelings" on that CD. It would not be complete without it. Mark G. Tusker
Hey Becka: It seems you already know what musical style you want to write in (alternative). So that leaves lyrics. I find that (warning: gross generalizations follow) men respond to well to indirect romantic thoughts using metaphor and simile, while getting turned off by direct descriptions. In your eyes for example, doesn't ever describe the persons eyes..... in your eyes the light the heat in your eyes I am complete in your eyes I see the doorway to a thousand churches in your eyes the resolution of all the fruitless searches in your eyes I see the light and the heat in your eyes oh, I want to be that complete I want to touch the light the heat I see in your eyes" but what the eyes stand for to the singer: completion, spirituality (1000 churches) light, heat, etc. Notice that light and heat themselves extremely indirect allusions to concepts like knowledge, life, etc. Add to this that Gabriel spends some time on negativity in the song (lyrics here) and these positive metaphors don't seem icky but transcendant to many of us. Of course, men's tastes are as diverse as women's. Wishing you well, Jerry
russrags
Hi Becka, I did the same thing for my 1st anniversary. What I did was compiled all the music that was played at our wedding, complete with art work made from wedding pictures and it looked like a real CD. I'll never be able to top that one. Another year I made a screen saver that played our wedding pictures and "Love Letters" by Boz Skaggs. Your on the right track and WELCOME aboard to this forum. Have fun, Russ http://home.bellsouth.net/p/PWP-russragsdale
