A Portion Of The Proceeds Will Be Donated to charity To Aid the Families Of The Victims Of The World Trade Center Attack. March 11, 2002 - Nyack, NY - In what words can never say, music can calm the heart, ease the mind, and soothe the soul. Jordan Rudess' latest live CD release, "4NYC" is a celebration of life, of the one's we love, and of healing. A part of the proceeds from the sale of "4NYC" will go to charity to help the families of the victims and the Heroes of September 11, 2001. A most heartfelt and soulful gift by one of America's leading contemporary keyboardists, Jordan has captured on CD his September 25, 2001 American Red Cross Benefit Concert for the Victims of the World Trade Center. With additional specially recorded, original instrumental compositions, Jordan delivers one of the most dynamic and impassioned life celebratory piano and keyboard performances of his recording career. "4NYC" features Jordan performing improvised compositions on a nine-foot Steinway grand, a Kurzweil 2600 and a Korg Karma. The CD also features a whimsical version of 'Mary Had A Little Lamb' as requested by Jordan's daughter, Ariana. Produced with help from his wife Danielle, Jordan's September 25, 2001 benefit concert took place Helen Hayes Performing Arts Center in Nyack, NY. The performance was promoted through Jordan's and Dream Theater's Internet community, as well as local newspapers and radio stations. A week after the performance, work began on mixing and mastering the performance for CD release. Jordan felt his improvised compositions represented some of the evening's best material and became motivated to record additional compositions in his home studio to complete the CD. Jordan states, "The concert and creation of the 4NYC CD was a way for me to do something positive for people after the tragedy of September 11th. Music has always been my most effective means for expression. The music on this CD, perhaps more than anything else I've done, comes straight from my heart. I hope it brings some small comfort, peace of mind and joy to all who listen to it." "4NYC" can be ordered through www.jordanrudess.com.
