Kendrix
This has been a very bad day. Only just one of the reasons is that I took my Ensoniq KS32 weighted action midi keyboard- (a key peice of my project studio) into the local tech shop to have its battery replaced. Everrything was fine cept for the battery low message. ( first time it needed replacement in the 7 years I had the unit). I Get the thing back home and no sounds - only pure crunch -even after re-initializing... Back to the shop. They now diagnose a motherboard and/or chip problem but warn me that, after Ensoniq was bought by EMU there is no longer any tech support or parts supply tht will allow them to fix things. Say it aint so. Anybody got any pointers to a keyboard junkyard- or similar place - that might have the discontinued components I seem to need?? HELP. Gus Lozada
You should visit directly emu/ensoniq's web site. I had the same battery problem (with my SQ1 Plus) and they told me exactly which battery was apropriate for it. I replaced it by myself. Visit their support area for direct help. dabooshprodigy.net
I also had some problems finding parts for my SQ2. Don't bother with the web site or the company, they won't help. All I needed was some replacement keys, and they pretty much told me to forget it! I posted a similar message to these forums, and low and behold a guy came through, so I shall return the favor. Musicians Electronic Service 798 Biddle Street Ardmore, PA 19003 Phone: (610) 896-7311 They have a bunch of old Ensoniq's sitting there. So they may be able to help you. I would question the "motherboard" though. It may be worth getting a second opinion. Good luck. JD Atkinson http://www.daBOOSH.net

His e-mail is: ericm@emu.com The battery is a Panasonic BR 2032 3v lithium. That battery is available through any electronics parts store. It is soldiered into place. How did I do it? VERY CAREFULLY !! http://www.musicplayer.com/ubb/biggrin.gif ... If you don't want to try it by yourself, a list of US Authorized Service Centers can be found at the following URL: http://www.emu.com/online_shop/ensoniqservice.pdf Hope this helps ! ------------------ Gus Lozada Moderador de: MusicPlayer.com/NuestroForo "La voz en Español en Música y Tecnología" Gus TraX @musicplayer.com Músico, Productor, Ingeniero, Tecnólogo Senior Product Manager, América Latina y Caribe - PreSonus at Fender Musical Instruments Company Instagram: guslozada Facebook: Lozada - Música y Tecnología www.guslozada.com
