Rod S
I posted this in Craig's forum to try to get a 'broader' audience, but no replies... Let's try here. http://www.sanjosejazz.org/ Haven't really been tuned into jazz lately, but i was planning on heading there next weekend. (I'm only 20 minutes north of SJ) Any suggestions on what to check out? There seems to be a pretty good variety of stuff going on... are you guys familiar with any of the acts? I won't be able to go all the days, so I'm trying to plan. Any recommendations are greatly appreciated. sbrock1san.rr.com
Eric Sardinas on Aug. 11th might be real good. I've heard one of his CD's and he excellent. He's a blues player, not a jazzer.
Rod S
Thanks. I'll be sure to check him out. Yeah, they call it a jazz festival, but there's a lot of other styles there too. I saw a wonderful flamenco player in the Montreal Jazz Festival a few years back. I'm going to end up spending most of my weekend there http://www.musicplayer.com/ubb/biggrin.gif Korg Kronos X73 / ARP Odyssey / Motif ES Rack / Roland D-05 / JP-08 / SE-05 / Jupiter Xm / Novation Mininova / NL2X / Waldorf Pulse II MBP-LOGIC American Deluxe P-Bass, Yamaha RBX760

Rod S
Thanks for the tips. There's a few acts that claim they play brazilian music, so I'm definitely checking those out. Still trying to get a date for the show http://www.musicplayer.com/ubb/biggrin.gif Looks like women don't care much for Jazz these days (flame suit on) http://www.musicplayer.com/ubb/smile.gif Korg Kronos X73 / ARP Odyssey / Motif ES Rack / Roland D-05 / JP-08 / SE-05 / Jupiter Xm / Novation Mininova / NL2X / Waldorf Pulse II MBP-LOGIC American Deluxe P-Bass, Yamaha RBX760
