KHAN
Dan, the Bass came today. I must admit I'm speechless. (That is not an easy thing to do, just ask anyone who frequents the Guitar forum)!!! This is really a beautiful instrument, and exceeded any expectations I may have had. Dan, just one question. Did anyone ever play this thing? There are no signs of wear anywhere on it. It's like brand new. I can not adequately express to you how much I appreciate this incredibly generous gesture, except to say that if I am ever in the position to help someone out in a similar way I will not hesitate to do so. You can see this bass here it looks very much like the one in the photo. SPECS. Carvin LB75 W/Case Active and Passive electronics Gold hardware 5 pc. maple neck w/koa stripes Tung Oil finish Thanks again!!!!!!!!!! dansouth
Kahn, Thanks you to YOU and your minions of smilies! Yes, I played the bass extensively for about a year and a half, but as I explained, I found the string spacing to be too tight for my hands. When I found another bass that suited me better, I retired this one. Since you're a (highly accomplished) guitarist, the spacing may work out better for you. I took this into consideration when I selected you as the recipient. I just hope she works out Please remember to send me a tape or CD sometime. The instrument records beautifully, and I'd love to hear what you can do with her. Dan
Curve Dominant
I can also vouch for Dan's generosity. I arrived home from a long day this evening to find a Roland sound module resting luvingly against the door to my apartment. A big round of applause for Dan South! CLAP! CLAP! CLAP! CLAP! CLAP! CLAP! the stranger
Count me in for a round of thanks. Dan is A#1. WFTurner
>>>I must admit I'm speechless.<<< I'm in the same boat upon receiving this Digitech VTP-1. I really didn't know much about this unit, upon opening it and lookin at the front panel I immediately did a "wow this looks awesome routine" and after doing a web search and finding the write up from all the sound mags about it when it came out and then following a bunch of links to studios that have this puppy sittin in thier racks I realized I have one hell of a front end for my somewhat backwards system. Again I'm speehless. Dan your one of a kind. Thanks Gotta go put an alternator on the lil ladies car out along the road then I'll be firing this puppy up. ------------------ William F. Anderton
I've been watching this whole thing transpire, from the original post, and all I can say is... This is truly cool. I haven't a seen a better reason yet as to why the internet should exist - this really is that "community" concept in action. I guess that there is intelligent life on earth after all. And Dan, there's nothing like teaching by example, which you do very well. I apologize to those who are still waiting for their stuff - April's been a busy month. Thanks again to all.
WFTurner
The boy thanks you for the VTP-1 as well... because of it he now has the POD. For my clean style of guitar playing this thing blows the POD out of the water. ------------------ William F. Turner Guitarist, Composer, Songwriter William F. Chip McDonald
Thanks Dan! Sorry I'm late in replying - I've been without net access the past 2 days... It's quite amazing. I haven't plugged it (the Nord)in yet because I'm in the middle of finishing a fusion tune I've been trying to cap off for the past month - and I know if I plug it in it's going to detour my focus quite a good bit.... So I've left it at my parent's office (where it was delivered) until next week. As it is this helps me stick to my Sunday deadline for what I'm working on, because I'm already antsy to start using it! I did however, stare at it for about 30 minutes in amazement, as if it wasn't really there. I've never been given such a thing before, particularly such a useful thing - amazing. Thanks again!
