I use to play drums in the 70's but very little, now I want to start practicing again just for fun, and also teach my daguther how to play, @ least the basics. My budget is limited [$350.00 tops]and I have very little sapce in my small studio,. I found this: Ion Electronic Drum Set I know for you drummers this is probably a blasfemy but the price is rigth for me. Any opinions? suggestions? It comes with a refund guarantte if not satisfied. Super 8
Have you checked to see if there is something used out there which might have be of better quality? Find some old Simmons pads and maybe and Alesis D4 and you'd be set. My concern is that what you are getting isn't going to withstand being hit with sticks for very long. There's lots of decent used stuff out there if you do a little searching. Super 8 Hear my stuff here

offramp
And old Simmons pads will probably give you a case of tennis elbow in short order. I'd recommend a set of Roland V-drums. I've upped my standards; now, up yours.
jay da cop
I agree with the used pads and a module like the D4. Maybe Simmons aren't the way to go, but there are lots of companies out there. I have a combination of Hart Dynamics and Dauz pads, with a Roland Octopad, and a DrumKat. I have 2 D4s hooked to all of this. It works for me. AND, I don't think I have $1000 invested in it all.
