Compact Diss
Hello, I'm usually on the guitar forum but need some help from experienced drummers. I have a drum machine(hate me now) and I want to play the Jazz tune "All The Things You Are" into it, then basically I would play the chords over it. Basically make my own backing track. Where can I find info on interpreting the notes I see on the music sheet? I know a note on the top line of the staff for me is a G, third fret, E string. Is this the same for drums or where can I find this info so I know what to hit, snare, cymbal and so on... Thanks ahead for any help!
Rod Gervais
Here's the basic idea..... http://www.studydrums.com/drummers/read01.html If you can read music for the bass this should be easy to get you started - If you want really in depth - you should by a book. Good luck, ROd
Compact Diss
Rod, I checked it out and the site didn't give me what I am looking for. Here's another one. Anyone know where there is a site that I can find the drum tabs for "All the things you are"? Jazz drum tab sites? Do these exist???
djarrett
Compact: Go to the following link: http://www.pas.org/Publications/FUN/houghton.cfm This is on the Percussive Arts Society site. Shows an example of a drum tablature legend and then emplementation of that. Hope this helps. DJ
Sean Shannon
Compact- That is really an interesting photo to use for your avatar. I think I saw that photo in the news as "John Doe #3", being pursued by the FBI as a pedophile pornographer. Oh, I just read the bottom of your post! Very interesting choice. I was hoping that you weren't that guy. No, I don't know him, but if I see him.......... Sean Shannon www.theredroomrocks.com
