The groove tools rocco signature bass by conklin. I remember these looking better the last time I saw them. I don't know

Either way, if I had to I would guess that they play amazingly.

Has anyone played one

Ok, well I wont buy it, but I'm sure it will make somebody happy. It's got an ok price tag on it.

I thought that if the flame on the pickguard was tighter it would look great. But I can't fault the company for trying to fit in these cosmetic features onto a bass. They just wanted to give us more for our money.

Definitely agree. The 7 looks pretty good, but the upper horn's just too damn big on the 4.

Not fugly at all. I dig the pickguard lots.

The horn does look long, but it's a 4 string, so it probably is long. I bet the balance is better for it.

The price sounds right. The maple board might be a deal breaker for me, I'd have to play it to tell for sure.

I'm a lot more like I am now than I was when I got here.

There's an Epiphone / Hipshot bass trem for $200 on that site. If I had the extra $$$ laying around, I'd get it - a new bass trem on its own costs nearly that much. At that low price it would be a cool toy to have.

I looks like the upper horn is trying to breakaway and secede from the rest of the bass.

As per the link provided by DWBass, Rocco is a bad, bad, bad man... at about 2:30 in the video, they start showing some really good shots of him, and boy does he make it look easy!

OMG! It's ALLLIIIIVE!

I hope it's a bad picture.

THIS is the bass I've been lusting after since it first appeared on the Conklin site in late 2001.

Sealed pickups (I dig poles on P p'ups)

The finish - I certainly hope it's better in person, especially the pickguard.:cry::cry:

This is the first I've seen of the Rocco model actually being available and I'll have to get my hands on one before I make the final judgement. I still dig it. I want to dig it sooo bad that I won't write it off yet!

Part of me wants to believe that Bill Conklin would have sent them back to Korea if the finish was really that ugly.

At first glance I thought it was just okay, but at second glance it started lookin' purdier and purdier!

I find that pictures just don't do justice to many basses. There has been many times I thought a bass was ugly until I saw it in person. There are a few exceptions, like this , which is even uglier in person than pictured. IMHO

I KNEW I remebered it looking less fugly. The bass in progress looks a lot better than the finished product to me. I mean, I don't think a photographer could do THAT to a bass...could he?
