_Sweet Willie_
Can it be?!? Yet again?!? Do they ever stop?!? Assuming that the Mrs. Grundy website does not lie -- or at least not about this, I can go see and hear (and maybe even touch?!?! ) Mrs. Grundy at the C-Note in NYC this Friday night! Looks like I'll need to round up my posse and head on into the city for the live music stylings of BenLoy & Co. (I can do that now, ya' know. It's only a river away.) Yeah, baby, it's time to spread the luv! Hey Ben, can you confirm my prescient sentiment that this just could be the greatest Grundy gig ever? Peace. --sweet'n'low spreadluv Fanboy? Why, yes! Tom Capasso
It'll only be the greatest if you make it there, Willie. I'll be 20 minutes north in Yonkers at band practice. _Sweet Willie_
Bump: You make it here I can hook you up w/ a bed. No joke -- a real bed and not a sleeping bag on the floor. However, you can't be allergic to dogs. I have dogs. They're groovy. You also have to be willing to sleep in Jersey. I've learned in my short time here that such an arrangement is a real barrier for some people, even if I live spitting distance from Newark Airport. Lastly, you can't consume so many adult beverages that you are forced to un-consume them -- my wife would not approve of un-consumed beverages on the floor of her new house... (I know, so many rulez -- where's the fun? ) Ben: Cover? Do let us know when you know more. _Sweet Willie_
I'm going to try to arrive right around 9:30 if not a little before that. This will be the best Mrs. Grundy show ever -- bar none -- fo' real, yo! wraub: Lookin' forward to seeing you there. Glad that you're gonna up the ante so the Grundians can each earn $2 now if they pull out some Crue. If Grundy brings the rock, we can bring the funkelry. Will your beloved spouse be there? BenLoy
Looks like it'll be a sausage fest...my girlfriend can't make it either (she's practicing for an audition for the role of "Mercedes" in Carmen and rehearsing for her aria in Mozart's Requiem on Sunday! _Sweet Willie_
Gig report: Mrs. Grundy is a most excellent band to see and hear live. I had a great time last night seeing them do their thing and they delivered the rock (although they did not rip into "Dr. Feelgood" -- I'm sure they would've if they had been able to play a longer set. ). The "stage" (I use the term loosely) is pretty tight, so their were no pyrotechnics or instrumental gymnastics (i.e., there wasn't enough headroom for Loy to hoist his bass up and play it behind his head). Nonetheless, the fellahs were energetic and delivered, and I liked the C-Note pretty well -- the staff there was very nice, even if the space was a little tight. wraub was there and took some great photos that will provide evidence that indeed these guys are rock stars. The lead vocalist, IMO, sounded great -- something that doesn't always happen live. "Inhale" is a great tune, and he does a great job with it. Also of note, I enjoyed the drummer's playing. I think he's relatively new to the band (is this true, Ben?). Ben, of course, delivered the goods. Crit? I wish that Matt's solos were slightly louder. A great time, and Ben did indeed purchase a chilled, bottled adult beverage for my consumption (and one for one of my friends!). A gentleman and a bassist! Anyway, it was great to chill w/ wraub and Ben, as well as a couple of my old NYC buddies that came along. It was great to see Grundy do their thing. IICBII, did you make it? Peace. --Dub $$ spreadluv Fanboy? Why, yes! Nordstrand Pickups and Guitars. Messiaen knew how to parlay the funk.

Rick Hoffman
Unfortunately, I did not make it. This whole weekend we had an open-house at work( I sell harleys so at least it was fun) I do plan on getting out and seeing some of you guys soon. I need to do some recon and find out where I stand in here as far as talent! Haha JK For all the advice and consolement I get from this place, the least I could do is make an occasional gig and show some support. Rick Hoffman
PS and BTW - after work on Friday I was also at a wedding- in the Hamptons. It was a long, boring drive to and from the damn place. But at least the food was good. No live band though Just a DJ I really wanted to make this show too...but I couldn't escape the wedding black-hole.
