73 P Bass
The Replacements "Hootenany". I have it on vinyl, but my wife just bought me the cd. That album was a big part of the sound track of my youth (high school, college). I've found myself, from time to time, humming songs from that album, but had totally forgotten where they came from. It's all coming back to me though... "Start listening to music!". -Jeremy C

EddiePlaysBass
My sister gave me the Probot cd for Christmas. One or two songs aside I think it's a great album, heavy 'n' rippin'. Lemmy rulez May get some more cd's for New Year, and today I'm gonna see if I can find some Rose Royce stuff. Blame Christina "I'm a work in progress." tnb
"Beehive" the musical. The shows features 6 female singers doing lots of mid to late 60's r&b, pop and rock. It's my next gig. It should be a lot of fun. The MD sent me a copy with no liner notes. I am assuming it is the Broadway recording, but I am really not digging the bass player. Too much "hey, look at me - I'm a baaad man".

That doesn't sound like the kind of player for needed for 60's R&B. Congratulations on the gig! "Start listening to music!". -Jeremy C

tnb
73 P said That doesn't sound like the kind of player for needed for 60's R&B. I agree completely, but it wouldn't be the first time somebody got away with playing BS (including me). The first 10 minutes was cool. The last half an hour was Hell. By the the time he got to the obligatory bass solo, I was considering a career as a shoe salesman.
wraub
Currently... Classic songs of the Motown Era, Vol 2. 4 discs, 88 songs. It could take a while. At home...the Led Zep dvd, the Led Zep audio Box set, and a really cool Robin Trower show from 1980. Peace, wraub I'm a lot more like I am now than I was when I got here. John Shepherd
I've been trying to learn to play "Cities" by the Talking Heads, so that plays over and over again lately. There's a New England band called Max Creek always in rotation. Also MMW and Steve Kimock Band especially the 2002 era with Alphonso Johnson on bass. ihategarybettman
"The Ride" by Los Lobos. Even an average album by these guys, such as this one, is still brilliant and so much better than most other CDs out there.
