Invincible
I'm currently using a Peavey Fury V quilt top. A Peavey MkIII XP series head and a Peavey 1x12 speaker cab which I don't really know much about, it's BW equipped apparantly. And when Christmas comes I shall be using a Boss GT-6B multi effects pedal.
bass face
currently my toy box includes: -'95 Warwick Thumb Neck Through (Elixer strings) -Yorkville 400B Head -Hartke 4x10 XL Cab -SKB PS-15 Board, with Tech 21 Sans Amp, Boss DD5 delay, Boss Chorus, Dunlap Bass Crybaby, and Boss TU-2 Tuner I had a Hartke head at one point, but it was lost by Sam Ash. Instead, I made them buy me the pedal board. The Yorkville pretty much sounds like a tin can, but I can get a great tone through the Thumb and PS-15 now. Ant. PickPunk
My rig (rig is a bit of an overstatement): Ibanez SR300DX 4 - string Crate BX15 15-watt practice amp Digiflex (i think) 15~20 foot cable Intelli tuner/ metronome ( needs to be replaced with something more accurate) Gibson Thunder Plus roundwound strings (thinking of flats just for fun) Its a poor excuse for a rig but its all i need since i don't gig with my band, we just jam (for now). I still want more though, come christmas i'll be getting a distortion pedal (see thread: Distortion Pedal Conflict) and if I ever start gigging with my band i'll probably save up for a bigger amp and another bass (one better than my SR300 so i can use the sr as a backup and the other one as my main player). I've been really wanting to build a Warmoth bass, but my knowledge of bass building is like "ok so the screw goes in the hole??" As for amps i think all i would really need is like a 2x10 or maybe a 4x10 but my band still doesn't gig so whatever its all good for now. peace

John W.
99% of my work is done on a 3/4 size Josef Bitterer Mittenwald Germany String Bass, circa 1900-1910. This with a David Gage Realist pickup through either a SWR Workingman's 10 combo, or more infrequently a 1977 Polytone Mini Brute 3, an SWR Workingman's 12, or completely acoustic. Every now and then I'll play my new Fender Highway One P-Bass through one of these rigs on a gig, but not that often, yet. Both basses are strung with Thomastic-Infeld strings; the fiddle with "weich" gauge, and the P with TI Flats.
