Jefferson Bus Stop. The oldies garage band I was in for two years. Now defunct, but it was a very good experience. :thu: We stepped out of the garage to play one of our many coffee house gigs... this one at Borders Bookstore.

LOL! :D She is very petite! I am 5'5", if that gives you an idea of her tiny-ness. Being so small, her guitar looks huge! But she has a giant heart and is a very capable finger-picker, and she is a fellow songwriter. She and I met throught the Louisiana Songwriters Association. Her name is Cath.

And believe it or not, the amp I used (and still use) is a little bitty keyboard amp. A Peavey KB30. But it was more than adequate for all of those coffee house gigs. And it's perfect for low volume rehearsals. And it's got 3 channels and can be used as a monitor, which is why I really love it. I can jam with a guitar player, me on bass, and also have a mic, all in that one amp. I bungee it to a luggage cart, and it travels very nicely. It's 34 pounds I think.

But... when I do buy myself a real bass amp, I think I have settled on the TNT115, unless I get rich, then I will spend more to get a lighter weight amp. The folks on this forum have given me tons of great info about possible bass amps.

I took the liberty of shrinking it down a bit, and Tom edited your post so the picture shows up.

Geocities does not allow deep linking, I think.

Hey, by the way, three questions:

1) What band is that over your shoulder?

2) Do you have all those egg containers because

a) You are going to attempt to acoustically diffuse the flat surfaces in your room, or

b) You paint miniatures, and that's where you keep your unfinished pieces?

3) How do you like your Carvin head?

"For instance" is not proof.

We shouldn't be able to see your left thumb while facing you.

Yep, that's way low. Try straightening the instrument parallel to the floor, then pulling it up to about waist level. Then angle it as usual.

In my case, the 24th fret of my Yamaha 5 string would be about 1-2 inches above my belly button. I don't think most folks need to pull it up that high, but it works for me. :)

Why thank you :)

1.) a Russian Duo called t.a.T.u. (pronounced tatoo), and yes, they are lesbians, as seen in the pic, but that is not the reason i like them.

2.) the egg containers are for semi-sound proofing, but i do paint and collect Warhammer minatures, as seen to the right of the containers, on the desk.

3.) i really like the R1000, it is a very nice amp. very versitile, durable, and loud.

Jeremyc- I have my strap so low becuase i like to free up my upper body. i understand what you mean by the posture, but i use the low strap for easy punk songs, which i play a lot of. i have another strap on a different bass that is much higher, which i use for harder songs, where it is very important where exactly your fingers are. ;)

No reason to feel bad, BGO, I bet that nobody else here had any kind of mega expensive/fancy gear when they were 15 either....you've got better stuff than I had at 15...
