LiveMusic
http://www.retireearlyhomepage.com/lesafe.jpg SOURCE: http://www.retireearlyhomepage.com/lesafe.html[/url] Believe it or not, it's music-related, haha. I wrote a song about mortality and I had a need to know some facts. I finally found a decent actuarial chart. BTW, that site has a downloadable spreadsheet you can input your age directly and calculate life expectancy to the various percentiles. This is very interesting. What I like to see is one of those for Male / Female. They ARE different, right? I note that if you are 20, 30, 40, 50, 60... odds are you will live to age 85. That seems high to me but there it is. Once you go beyond that... if you are, say, age 80 now, odds are you will live to be almost 90. Of course, some beat the odds and live longer. Interesting! The biblical threescore and ten is no longer applicable. It's fourscore and five, I suppose. Rock on. The Rolling Stones will be on tour until 2030? > > > [ Live! ] < < <
LiveMusic
Hmmm, I dunno. This web page shows more what I'd think... NOT age 85 if you are, say 50 now. If you are, say, age 41, a Male would hit age 75.6, Female, 80.9. I'll have to read these a bit more. > > > [ Live! ] < < <
Ernest Buckley
You know what, I`ve thought about this before, I`d rather live healthy and a full life and die young than older and have my health fail me. With that said, I wouldn`t mind living to be 100 and seeing my great grandchildren and having all of my facilities. Of course, dying making music would be best. www.ErnestBuckley.com
Phait
Or dying on the shitter. I'd be laughing if the afterlife if that happened to me. But I carry the attitude that I'll never die, so far it seems to work!

Botch.
I've read too that married men live longer than single men, but it only seems that way. Dak Lander
Shoot, I've already lived longer than it was thought. Can't wait 'til tomorrow. I get better looking every day. Jeff Klopmeyer
Yep, we're all gonna die. There's some cool research going on right now, where they (the famous "they") feel that computers could get enough processing power and connectivity to be around that of the brain in the next 20-40 years, allowing you to download yourself before you croak. That is, your physical body would go away, but you'd live on in some state as data. Lots of implications there, some of them not so pretty. - Jeff Marketing Communications for MI/Pro Audio My solo music and stuff They Stole My Crayon

Jeff Klopmeyer
By the way, once computers become sentient and gain consciousness, it's gonna be an interesting world. "Interesting" isn't always a good thing, by the way. - Jeff Marketing Communications for MI/Pro Audio My solo music and stuff They Stole My Crayon
Tedster
Well, didn't Arnold and Linda Hamilton already take us down that road? When I get my brain implanted into a computer, I shall take over the world. BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Well, perhaps not. BTW...isn't there an ancient Chinese curse that says "May you live in interesting times..." ??? "Cisco Kid, was a friend of mine"
