KuruPrionz
Not sure where to put this but since this is "My Open Mic" at the moment, I'll just post it here. I was in a local thrift shop and saw this Yamaha receiver. It looks normal on the front side but the back is unlike anything I've seen before. I count 53 RCA jacks but there might be 6 more in the output section so maybe 59 total? Quote It took a chunk of my life to get here and I am still not sure where "here" is. Dave Bryce
My previous Yamaha looked kind of like that one. The one I have now is mostly HDMI for the Audio, Video and Component I/O. SO much better...and neater, from a cabling POV. dB Quote ==> David Bryce Music • Funky Young Monks <==

Philbo King
This looks a lot like our living room receiver, also a Yammy. Currently wired as 4.1, but capable of (IIRC) 7.1.
Notes_Norton
I've got a Marantz that has about 3/4 as many. I'm not fond of RCA plugs. They are a PITA to replace. But as far as shield integrity is concerned, they do a good job at keeping stray signals out. David Emm
Holy bleep, what a Medusa hairdo of cords that generates! My first thought was about the horrific adapters I used to connect things, back before I learned what impedance was. You know how it was at times: you'd use anything you had to cram things together in a pinch. The best effect pedal I had was the noise gate, because things sounded like a windstorm without it. 😆 If it looks like a jungle from the outside, imagine the poor tech who has to trace everything when its opened up. 😬 1 Quote "I like that rapper with the bullet in his nose!" Philbo King
I should note, on my Yamaha, that very few of these jacks are in use. - toslink fiber input from TV - turntable stereo pair - CD stereo pair - Cassette deck stereo pair It doesn't bother me in the least having 28 or so unused jacks. Out of sight, out of mind... 1

Out of sight, out of mind... True, no doubt about it. If the one in the photo was mine, I might hook up a CD player and some speakers (which are not RCA jacks) and call it good. I don't own any records or cassettes anymore. 1 Quote It took a chunk of my life to get here and I am still not sure where "here" is.
