Slowly
Don Leslie, inventor of the "LESLIE" speaker, died yesterday, Sept 3, 2004. Without Mr. Leslie, the Hammond organ would not be called 'The Voice of God'. Bro. Casey "Let It Be!"

fantasticsound
RIP Mr. Leslie... I always wondered who that was named for. I imagine Don thought about potential notices of his funeral in the papers; "Don Leslie, inventor of the rotating Leslie speaker designed to enhance Hammond Organs was laid to rest today. His casket accelerated to a spin before being lowered into his grave at.... " It's easiest to find me on Facebook. whitefang
What he did was nothing short of marvelous. I recall my buddy plugging his cheezy Farfisa through a Leslie, and even THAT thing sounded GOOD! I also dig the sound of a guitar through one of 'em! Thanks for everything, Mr. Leslie. Whitefang I started out with NOTHING...and I still have most of it left!

Thanks for all the beautiful sounds, Mr. Leslie.
