Old Music Guy
I recently came across a dbx 160XT compressor that had the Output Gain pot sheared off at the PCB. The collet is also missing. It's a fairly standard 20k linear taper PCB mount. But I can't find it anywhere. Can anyone point me in the right direction to find dbx replacement parts? Quote What? KuruPrionz
Did you google "dbx parts"? It brought up over 12 million hits. The first one for Full Compass looks like a great place to start. Quote It took a chunk of my life to get here and I am still not sure where "here" is.
Old Music Guy
I tried to second source it from other places, but the dimensions for this part, plus the knob and collet were very specific. I found a direct replacement from a company in Burbank, CA called Studio Electronics. They're a little pricey, but exact replacements. I had dropped my Strat of at my local music store for a setup. After shooting the breeze, Chris said he had a dbx 160XT in the back room that was trashed. So, I looked at it and said I would see what I could do to fix the broken pot. Turns out the dbx parts cost about what the setup would cost, so we traded. Win-win for everyone! 1 Quote What?
