K&K Music Artist of the Month - June!

Me!!!!

I actually made a useful addendum to their installation manual for the K&K Pro Mini pickup system. My second install was a small bodied Martin guitar and I have large hands. I could not easily reach to install the output jack or place the pickup units in the correct locations on the underside of the top. In the process I came up with a better way to assure alignment of the installation.

They liked it, and asked me if I could contribute something and be one of their Artists of the Month. I made a simple video of me playing my Rainsong with K&K installed into a Fishman Loudbox Performer.

While the amplifier is a factor in the tone, the previous pickup had an extremely loud B string response and the G and E sounded weak.

The Pro Mini is much better balanced and has a smoother transient. It sounds like a guitar now when plugged in, it used to make me grit my teeth.

Anyway, enjoy! (I sure am!)

It took a chunk of my life to get here and I am still not sure where "here" is.

That was pretty darn cool, I like the arrangement for solo guitar!

"Sleep Walk" has always been one of my favorite songs, I did an electronic version back in the early 70s. The "steel guitar" was just an oscillator with a big dial that covered an octave. Difficult to play, but it sounded kind of like a theremin. Hmmm...Sleep Walk on a theremin...could be interesting!..

Thanks Craig, a theremin would be perfect. So would a Dan Bau:
