Yes -- 20th century theater organs (versus church organs) were intended for accompaniment of silent films, as a replacement for a pit orchestra. Thus, bass and snare drums, suspended cymbals, bells, even harps and grand pianos could be controlled from their consoles. Google "Theater organ" and then pick some of the videos for a fun evening. I keep having this uncomfortable vision of driving down there this month, mortgaging everything to buy that Wurlitzer, returning home, and then finding out that it was stolen from the Byrd theater.
