16251
I'm amused to find a single thread discussing "Wave" (which I've avoided for years just because I was forced to play it too often when you g), "Pensativa" (which I agree is one of the most brilliant jazz tunes ever) and "I should care" (which is a joy to play and listen to). Since we've talked about Wave, I think it's OK to add this tune, which I think of with Latin beat and Pensativa. It also shows off a great Rhodes sound ( why I chose the "minus strings" version here.) MathOfInsects
I isolated the vibraphone solo section in case anyone wants to take a crack at transcribing it. Thanks Maths. We're no strangers to Wave. Cheers, Mike. He does some good stuff in that little stretch though. Quote Now out! "Mind the Gap," a 24-song album of new material. www.joshweinstein.com

His avant guarde sensibility certainly gets buried in the original and your isolation really highlights it. You can see the sax player is in awe. Reezekeys
I heard Collier is preparing a vocal arrangement of that vibes solo. Should be interesting!

jazzpiano88
One of my first CDs and exposures to Stan Getz as a college student was through Dianne Schuur (go figure ). Love these selections of Dianne with Stan soloing and accompanying on these two tracks. (even though the mid 1980s digital mastering "sizzle" is bad). The MIDI piano I think still ages ok. The First track is composed by Ivan Lins.
