elif
If the Yahoo Rhodes group migrated, where to?
Dave Bryce
They're more than welcome to come here, if they'd like. We have plenty of room. Would they need their own forum/sub-forum? We could probably do that pretty easily. dB Quote ==> David Bryce Music • Funky Young Monks <==
elif
Would there be a way to archive the messages from the Yahoo group?
The Real MC
Would there be a way to archive the messages from the Yahoo group? Nope. Yahoo wouldn't allow it. And you'd have to manually weed out the spam messages.
Mighty Motif Max
There hadn't been any posts since mid-2017 as of October, so I don't believe it migrated anywhere, sadly. I'm not sure if there's anyone to actually decide to migrate the remaining active users here or anywhere. I'm a member so I could send an email to whomever is left, but I'm not sure it would get anywhere. I did make a full archive of that group among others with messages and files etc (there's a thread with a list here). However as The Real MC said, there's often a lot of spam to weed through. There's no way to archive at this point. I have to work on some kind of web interface for the archives as some groups have requested that. Either way it's not the same as an active group, just the history. You can still try to join the Yahoo group if you want in case there are people still there. Doerfler
Yahoo Rhodes group went south about 10 years ago. it was never very busy, but there were quite a few international members. David Ell pretty much single handidly ruined it, he was so toxic that people stopped posting because he knew everything and so one else knew anything, according to him. People on this forum have a sence of decency, and those that don't are soon weeded out. I'd be happy to discuss anything Rhodes related that you would want to discuss here on this forum.
