OT: Beer for party

I like a variety of beers, Mexican, German, Asian, UK, Belgian. Not so much American. I went to a brewery in Marin (north of SF), great place, great atmosphere, huge selection. Although I've sampled a lot in the past, I'd never tried IPA. So there on the menu was a "triple something IPA", and I goes, well lets try that.

That shit was bad, the most bitter disgusting drivel ever.

there are many, many, too many to mention great beers being brewed in California. Give it another chance

Dave, there's a chance I will try it again. There's a better chance that I'll eat my own arm off.

IPA's are normally bitter. The really strong ones will slap you across the face and kick you in the shins.

Some are milder though, while others have a distinct "grapefruit" taste... like Lagunitas Little Sumpin' Sumpin' Ale. It's amazing.

I was referring to CA beers in general, not that specific one. try one in the ABV that you are comfortable with, similar to the beers you listed that you like, most seem to be around 5%. I myself don't usually like the triples, whether they are Belgian or American

Has anyone checked on Tom? (ITGITC)

A thread about beer, and he has not said a word. I'm worried about him.

Hi Ronnie!

Life is good!

Honestly, you all are the connoisseurs. I'm just here for the after-party! :-)

My best to you and Cheryl!

Tom

ITGITC?
