desertbluesman
Stewart MacDonald's sells a set of nut files. Caevan O’Shite
Sounds like the nut needs to be re-filled and filed down a little - if you have crazy glue and Baking soda available , fill the groves in question and either use a tiny file or if not available, a wound G string. Hey, thanks for chiming in- and with generally very good info! However, in Scott's particular case, the problem is up the fretboard quite a way, far from the nut; I'm sure that placing a capo at any of the first few frets, eliminating the nut from the equation, would not change the fret-buzz issues he's having with this guitar.
