whitefang
Kinda cool, Danny. Would have liked to see footage of the "works" in action though. And here's some ancient Celtic thing I "discovered" 50 years ago and included the name of it in a song I wrote back then. Took till these iNet days before I could actually see AND hear one though! Winston Psmith
*is still none the wiser* I think he means a deeper look into the structure of the Apprehension Engine, perhaps? I saw elements of a Monochord (the long, loud Single String on top) a Bass Kalimba/M'Bira (the plucked metal bars on the side), and a Hurdy-Gurdy (where he turns a crank to rub the round 'wheel' against the string). It takes parts of some very simple Folk Instruments, and amplifies them to make something creepy-sounding. Add a little Delay & Reverb, and there you go, instant Haunted House. Not sure what was in the more upright section of the box, where he was driving the sound with an E-Bow, but it looks as though he's gutted an old-school Spring Reverb, and was running the E-Bow on the Springs. Winston Psmith
Good to see my guesses weren't entirely off. I didn't notice that there were two 'necks' on top, or two strings for the "Hurdy-Gurdy/Monochord", in the original video. Nice idea using the rulers for 'keys'; lets you 'tune' them by measuring, I expect. "Monsters are real, and Ghosts are real too. They live inside us, and sometimes, they win." whitefang
I think he means a deeper look into the structure of the Apprehension Engine, perhaps? Well, thanks for at least TRYIN' to help, Winston, but I was referring to the bit earlier video of that "Viola Organista". This helped( slightly) and too, gave me a "link" to a website that may have more visual info. [video:youtube] Whitefang I started out with NOTHING...and I still have most of it left!
