Chromedoggy
Just heard through some local guys in the D that Skip Knape (Van Winkle) passed this afternoon, no other details. One of my favorites
B3bluesman59
As I recall he played on Seger's Smokin' OPs album. What a killer player. Also had a hit or two recording as Teagarden and Van Winkle.
Polychrest
I saw Skip Knape half a dozen times back when Teegarden and Van Winkle were a house band at the old Electric Circus in Toronto. He was a seriously gifted player, a revelation to the kid I was at the time about all the stuff a skilled organist could squeeze out of a Hammond B3. The two of them put on a great show. And they were nice, friendly people. Shamanczarek
In the early 80's Robbie Krieger had a trio with Skip playing Organ and doing bass on the pedals.
