Sequencer games

I am currently trying to build an experimental project, half jazz, half Berlin school, half anything else (three halfs, i told you it is experimental).

Playing with the Cubase arranger track, i am planning to move to Live shortly (waiting for a licence transfert for the intro version), but i am wondering how to improvise with sequences.

In the last rehearsal i played with the "as played" mode of my OB-6 arpeggiator, but it require quite a bit of planning; i am wondering what is your favorite toy (hw:sw) for this kind of stuff, other than the Tangerine Dream Moog Modular Sequencer.

There are several IOS apps that I find enjoyable for playing with improvised sequencing:

Xynthesizr - http://yuriturov.com/xynthesizr/ - Game Of Life cellular automata and other fun stuff.

Senode - https://www.senode.org/

Gestrument - Currently being revamped for a "pro" version.

On hardware, Octatrack recently had trig conditions added, but I haven't found the time to really dig into it yet.

Anything more "bumpy", i means with real buttons ? I find risky to try to tap the right place on the iPad screen while playing a solo or chords with the other hand :->

If I do anything with iPad that requires good timing, I do plug in a keyboard controller or something. These days, it's my Korg Monologue.

There are also loads of pad controllers, knob controllers, fader controllers, etc. to choose from if those are more suitable, depending on what kind of sequencer games you're playing
