I already have about 50 CDs of Christmas music by various people. Some are re-issues of old Holiday albums that go back 60 years or so.

I'm good.

Whitefang

That's great as long as you have no interest in new music, I guess.

Here to save this thread with the greatest Christmas song of all time:

Nice tune & great horn line (didn't fully penetrate the lyrix yet)...but maybe not the GREATEST.

:poke:

Good thing we live in a land where individual opinion, of yet at least, is allowed.

Thanks for hipping me to this.

GREAT horn lines.

Bass is good too !

:2thu:

& Danz, that 1st track is pretty but the 2nd 1 is really Top O The Pops !

Love them clever musical conceptualists !

" & a strange little beat in 5/8".

--------------

BTW & FWIW

The Clinton, Blind Boys track above should also incl. Robt Randolph in credits.

OOPS !

DBMan, I am betting that the blues-funk of the Blind Boys, Clinton & Robt Randolph track above will hit yer spot...but that Clyde McPhatter track's cool, too !

If the Clinton trak's too hot try this...

Well, it isn't as if I listen to them ALL YEAR LONG. I usually slap some in my 5-disc carousel CD player while putting up and decorating the tree(which for an obvious reason ISN'T going up this year). I usually go more for "traditional" versions of carols anyway. My favorite is still one I grew up with("Now Is The Caroling Season" -Fred Waring and His Pennsylvanians/1957).

I'm not really interested in "post-punk" or "new wave" treatments of old traditional carols.

Whitefang

I started out with NOTHING...and I still have most of it left!
