(slightly Off Topic) Mixer for the keyboards

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I plug all my keyboards to a Yamaha 01V. It has the ADAT I/O so that I can connect it to an RME Digiface to record the keyboards into the computer. It's been a great setup for 15 years!!!!

Well, the mixer is starting to give me problems and I was wondering what's out there in the mixer market with an ADAT I/O (I don't want to replace the RME Digiface) that is not too expensive (wife factor here).... any recommendations?

Thanks,

Regards,

Fran

I'm exploring new options here too. I have lots of ADAT stuff, HD24 etc.

but needed a new mixer.

Took a gamble and bought one of the new WiFi mixers from Soundcraft . A Ui16 Now I plug everything into this "stage box?" and lay it back behind the speakers, and mix with a tablet or phone. It has a USB player / recorder built in and * Ethernet * to record 32 Bit samples right to the computer. I have not had a chance to try this out.

This was a big change for me, but things have become much easier.

Scene recall, EQ, Dynamics, FX it's all there.

FWIW.........if you look at the Behringer (MIDAS) X-Air stuff, you can record to the computer via USB. The XR-12 and XR-16 will export a stereo stream. The X-18, XR-18, X32, and M32 will export a full multitrack setup.

I have always had great luck with my HD24 also.

But I am finding that the ADAT standard is going away.

The only new mixer I could find is this:

And it's not a true mixer it's only for monitoring so I have been looking around at other options.

If you have not already, try asking the folks on the yahoo HD24

forum. I think I have seen this up there before.

I actually bought an XR16 first. But it seems to be targeted at broadcasting more than music. "It has a built in ducker"

If you are using an Apple to interface no probs, but the Android interface is umm ... lacking.

Conversly the interface for the Soundcraft is not an app at all

but uses a web browser so the interface remains the same no-matter what platform you use.
