ChiefDanG
Just got back from the First Baptist Church in Nashville, where they had their (4th) annual "Keyboards and Christmas" presentation. Six grand pianos, pipe organ, choir, percussionist, and bassist. A beautiful old church with a fantastic pipe organ whose pipes tower above the choir(@ 100 voices?). This is where my daughter and son-in-law were married, BTW. Center stage were six grands in a circle - two Steinways (7 foot?) and four Kawais (5 foot?). About 15 players participated at different times -anywhere from 4 to 12 at once ( 2 players on each piano for a lot of the evening). Fantastic, beautiful evening. I was holding my 6-month-old granddaughter and we were both mesmerized by the music, although her favorite parts were when everybody clapped at he end of songs. Makes me want to sell all my electric/electronic/digital stuff and fill my apartment up with a grand piano. Professional musician = great source of poverty.
