Boggs
The neck is being built now and it will be birdseye maple with a pistatio fingerboard. Progress to date... Not finish sanded by any stretch of the imagination, but will give you a good idea what it will look like. http://www.angelfire.com/ny5/boggs.com/Cicada/Lefty_Cicada1s.jpg http://www.angelfire.com/ny5/boggs.com/Cicada/Lefty_Cicada2s.jpg Check out my Rock Beach Guitars page showing guitars I have built and repaired... http://www.rockbeachguitars.com

Boggs
nice! are your others a 25" scale, too? Mostly, they're 25.5" but I have a couple at 24.75". These will be my first at 25". desertbluesman
Nice Boggs, I like the fact that you are using a Tele control plate. I always use them when I build my own guitar bodies. although I bring the volume pot where you have the 5 position switch and move the selector switch to the rear end of the guitar. And I move the volume pot nearer the rear pup, so the control plate does not run parallel to the center line of the instrument. dbm If it sounds good, it is good !! http://www.soundclick.com/bands/default.cfm?bandID=143231&content=music
harvey
I'm usually on a 25 1/2, so I really feel it when I pick up a 24 3/4. What is the thought with the 25? I knew PRS use that length on a bunch of bodies... Boggs
It is just a real nice compromise. Also, it gives folks all the options to play to decide what they like best. harvey
It is just a real nice compromise. Cool (my question was kinda dumb in hindsight!). What scale do you prefer for your own axe, Boggs? Boggs
Depends on what I am playing. When I need extra sparkle, 25.5. When serious bends are required or if my shoulder was particularly sore, 24.75. I haven't played any of my guitars in 25" yet as I have not built one fully yet, but I expect I will like this as well. Fair copout? Check out my Rock Beach Guitars page showing guitars I have built and repaired... http://www.rockbeachguitars.com

Definitely post pics of the finished project. I'm in the middle of a Warmoth build myself, didnt have the nerve to start from scratch like you did, great job.
