SeaKeys
I found this old Keytar. It has the name Oopmahta on it(first letter is a circle with a line down the middle). Looks like Russian writing on it to me. I can find nothing on the internet about it. Anybody know about this? Thank you.

bloodyMary
That web site is really cool, actually. It's a virtual Soviet synth museum. They made more synths than you might think. They have some more pics of this keytar. therealvicz
So what music did they make with these great old analogue synths, any idea? "Just a tad more attack on the filter, Grandad!"
Sven Golly
The name is "Formanta" (the first letter reads "F", and in Russian "H" is actually an "N"). Nicely done, BM.
RedLeo
The name is "Formanta" (the first letter reads "F", and in Russian "H" is actually an "N"). Shame, really. I mean, who wouldn't like to own a genuine vintage 8 voice Oopmatha? Everybody's got to believe in something. I believe I'll have another beer. - W. C. SeaKeys
That is the one. Thank you. Hope I can find a Russian on Ebay that wants to buy it.
bloodyMary
Да здравствует Перестройка! Медведи! Does it sound like crap? Can you come up with a good mono lead on this thing? I could translate the front panel for you. Purely theoretical interest - how much do you hope to sell it for? bloodyMary
I'm sure someone in an indie or glam metal band would be glad to have one, as a gimmick. I know I'd like. SeaKeys
I have not tried it yet. I need to decipher the labeling first. I'll post pics of the labeling. When I get it working I'll post a demo. I'm curious as to how it sounds and what it can do.

Joe Muscara
In Soviet Russia, keytar plays you!!! "I'm so crazy, I don't know this is impossible! Hoo hoo!" - Daffy Duck "The good news is that once you start piano you never have to worry about getting laid again. SeaKeys
I deciphered the labeling using Google translate, so now I know what the functions are. It was made in the late 80's early 90's. The CPU is a Russian clone of an 8080. I found one like mine that was recently sold on Ebay. Even has a demo video. http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=330550601652+
reidmc
Love the way they used the YAMAHA logo typeface; guessing the sounds will be knocked-off, too.
