Jon Bryson
Hi, I'm looking for information on a article that I think appeared 15, maybe more years ago in Keyboard. It involved a jazz pianist who had to quit playing due to some form of repetitive stress injury and eventually was able to play for up to 5 minutes a day. He recorded an album in 5 minute a day increments. Anyone remember this or know who the pianist may have been? Thanks, Jon
Rodaniel
That would be Jimmy Amadie. A friend of mine studied with him in Philly, and spoke very highly of him. He also wrote a jazz piano method book that's still available, I believe. Hope this helps!
marino
Yes, Jimmy Amadie. A couple of his improvisation books are even translated into Italian, amazingly.
