Sven Golly
Not sure I get your point? From the comment attached to the video on YouTube: This tune is "The Tom and Jerry Show", composed by Hiromi Uehara, Japanese jazz pianist. I played it when I was 20 years old. I couldn't get the real score of this tune, so I listened to the CD, and wrote it down by myself! Sorry for my poor technique and bad quality of this video. To me that means he learned it by ear. Impressive, but worth the superflouous punctuation? Meh.
Steve Nathan
I'm also confused. Fine playing for sure, but if he transcribed it from a CD, how does that make him the composer? Don't rush me. I'm playing as slowly as I can! http://www.stevenathanmusic.com/stevenathanmusic.com/HOME.html https://apple.co/2EGpYXK

vicsant
I believe the video title meant that this guy transcribed Hiromi's piece by ear...

Steve Nathan
Okay, I get it now. I'd never heard the "original" and thought the player in the video just happened to share the same name as the more famous one. I guess it's a testament to his ear and tenaciousness. Don't rush me. I'm playing as slowly as I can! http://www.stevenathanmusic.com/stevenathanmusic.com/HOME.html https://apple.co/2EGpYXK
