Karl Sutton
Do these have the same action & basic piano sound? I tried to search but didn't find anything, thanks. Yamaha P22 Upright / Nord Stage 2 SW73
Nicky
I think the FP7 has a more weighted/heavier action than the FP4.....but I'm not sure that makes it better, as a lot of folks around here like the FP4. SAme basic piano sound I'm pretty sure.
SK
Identical piano sound, different action. CD: http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/stevekessler
zephonic
I prefer the FP7 over the FP4, but remain unconvinced that it is worth the extra money. local: Korg Nautilus 73 | Yamaha MODX8 away: GigPerformer home: Kawai RX-2 | Korg D1 | Roland Fantom X7
Dan O
The biggest problem with the FP series is the overall weight. Most manufacturers have gone lighter, Roland is 52lbs...yikes. www.esnips.com/web/SongsfromDanO
SK
The FP4 is 33 lbs., which is why it's popular having the same piano sound as the FP7. Usable actions on both. FP7 has heavier action, nicer display, etc., but neither one has a true piano feel. CD: http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/stevekessler
allan_evett
I teach, two nights a week, on an FP7. For DPs I've generally been more of a Yamaha guy, but Roland definitely did something right with the FP7. Played an FP4 the other night; quite a powerhouse at 33 lbs... ADino
I like the 7 very much..almost got it instead of the gx, but the gx is so much more useful for live. I thought it killed the 4 though.
igalbog
Also, the FP-7 has a pitch roll on the left of the keyboard.
Karl Sutton
I wish I could lay my hands on a FP4 - anyone in Nashville have one? Yamaha P22 Upright / Nord Stage 2 SW73
Dan O
I should have clarified. FP7 is 52lbs. www.esnips.com/web/SongsfromDanO
