Zydecat
http://centralmich.craigslist.org/msg/1582212028.html This CL posting caught my eye - for you Hammond gurus, is this an "M" model? Regardless, would whatever model it is be worth picking up? Thanks in advance for any thoughts on this.
Skinny
Looks like an L-101. Tube, tonewheel model. Traditional percussion. The only drawback I could see is that L series doesn't have traditional scanner vibrato. I'd go for it... (If I had the room... ) Stuff and things. The Real MC
They're not 'waterfall' keys so it's not an M-3. I can't tell if it an L-100 or M-100.
mate stubb
I can't recognise the cabinet or music rack style - I'm not so good on spinets. It could be an L-100 of some variety with the rightmost tab broken off. Moe ---
Zydecat
Thanks for the responses. Some info from my initial search on the L series talks about them not being suitable for LH bass, but I'm not sure why.

Zydecat
Gotcha - I may go check it out anyway, I'd like an inexpensive Hammond to mess with, but not a $100 boat anchor.
mate stubb
If it IS an L-100, and everything on it is right except for a broken tab, $100 is fair. Moe ---
B3Nut
It is an L-100, and the rightmost tab isn't broken off, it (the Brilliance tab) doesn't exist on L-100's of this vintage. This is an early L-100 which only has a volume soft tab in that spot. TP --- Todd A. mate stubb
Well there you go. I've played L-100s many times, but never with much pleasure. My first Hammond was a console, so I never did care for the spinets. Except for the M-3. That's a baby B for sure. Moe ---
B3Nut
I like L's for some things. They definitely have a lot of cut and bark, just not a lot of beef. I'm in the process of making the L-100 and M-102 around here disappear... --- Todd A. Zydecat
Thanks for all the useful info. Since I have no real need for such a beast right now, I think I'll hold off til I run across an M-3 - I sure as heck don't want to start a collection.
