Chip McDonald
I've just wasted about 30 minutes trying to make two posts, both got dumped into null. Make a little reply and it posts instantly almost. Longer than about 2 sentences, it loads, and loads, and loads... and then yields a "page not found" error. This is highly annoying. Alndln
I don't know Chip I just posted a fairly long reply about a minute ago with no problems, either I just missed the glitch or you have Ip/browser problems. ricknbokker
Jeez, Chip. Only two sentences? Judging by the usual length of your posts... you must me going out of your mind!!! :D Sorry for the jab, but I couldn't resist. :) Steve
Hippie
That sounds like your connection may be dropping, not to the point of hanging up, but enough for it to "lose it's way". I noticed that problem when I'm on a dial-up connection, never on a permanant connection. In two days, it won't matter.

Chip can be a little verbose (not that we would all want it otherwise)...... Anderton
Well, if all you can post is two sentences, then just do sentences with lots of commas instead of periods, it could actually make for an interesting new style of writing, the whole concept of never reaching a sentence until the end of a page could hold people's interest longer, which might flag if the thing seemed too long otherwise, but they'd be too polite not to stop reading until they reached the period in the sentence, but of course there wouldn't be any, so they would have to keep on reading, Craig Anderton Educational site: http://www.craiganderton.org Music: http://www.youtube.com/thecraiganderton Twitter: http://www.twitter.com/craig_anderton

Chip McDonald
Ok, so that's it, you've sped things up by running a 1k buffer limit. Can you make the window in UBB larger so that if you fill it up you've reached 1k? Oh well, no more meandering train of thought posts. Chip McDonald
Yep, this sucks. I don't like to A) Have to think "gee, am I exceeding 1k?" and B) Flood control prevents splitting a post up efficiently. C) It seems like I can't be the only person here that creates posts longer than 1k. I can type really fast, my whole enjoyment here IS the train of thought meandering. Like I'm doing right now; I like not having to edit myself knowing that hopefully there are technical-minded people reading this who can follow this (since when I talk in real time no one apparently follows me). This sucks. Gee, is this less than 1k? Uhg. videoeditor1
Chip, It may be a thing in your neck of the woods. What's your connection type? How many different machines can you access the internet from? Have you tried loggin in with a new (temp) user name to see if it follows your connection or your user name? Or what? kudyba
Sorry for the late response--I was out of the country trying to learn how to dance the merengue. Chip--email me (rkudyba@uemedia.com) the exact warning or error message you are getting. I do not see anything, e.g., a setting, about size limits for posts... I used the post above to test what I thought was going on - posted up to 1024 characters or so, and sure enough I couldn't post anything above that. It seems to be gone now? Although I did get a strange error message yesterday (I believe I sent it to you in email?).
