Edgar Summers
I meant to post on this the other day. I used a lot of Carvin equipment when I was in the military years ago. I got to order a lot of our sound equipment so I went for a couple of Carvin PA boards and several sets of speakers. One small 8-channel PA I bought with the intention of using for my keyboard set-up was always being borrowed by some of the other sub-groups we had within the band. I finally bought a 2nd one to avoid all the fuss. I know that several years after I left the Army they were STILL using a lot of that equipment. Today I have 2 three-way 15inch cabinets that are really nice. I used them last year with a guitarist friend who own JBL eons (the nice ones-not those cheap one they were making). We put together a JBL/Carvin hybrid PA and played a beach party outside. We were plenty loud and I would say the Carvins had more bass. Of course I would say that to my friend no matter what the truth was! FWIW I like their vocal mikes for a low cost backup sort of thing. I like my AKG dynamic microphones a little better, but I do use my Carvins once in awhile. "Music should never be harmless."
