dales69
Hi. I'm looking for recommendations for a new lower board for live performance. I've had 2 shoulder surgeries, so I need to go lighter than the RD-500 that I'm replacing (30 lbs or lighter would be nice) so semi-weighted keys would be fine. I'll be controlling a laptop (usb or midi) and I'm using an A-70 as my upper board. I'm looking for 88 keys, at least 25 to 30 user programmable save slots, and transpose. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks. Dale
RedKey
The Privia PX-320 is around 25 pounds and a pretty good weighted action. The A-70 could easily do any of your presetting & transposing for both boards. Just a quick answer...
Cloud_9
the new Numa Nano may be just the thing for you. Checkout StudioLogics website,I believe it is to be just under 23lb. No info on release date though.
bhodaway10
The Roland FP4 and RD300 GX are two good choices as well. Since you're cool w/ semi weighted, the PC3 could work also. I'm interested in the Nano as well. www.brianho.net http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/brianho www.youtube.com/brianhojazz
dales69
Thanks for the replies. I checked out the Numa Nano. Customized the colors (copper and black), and logo and it really looks sweet! 22 lbs. sure looks good on the shoulders. Sounds like July 1 availability. I'll keep looking till then. Any more ideas? Thanks Dale
SHaka40
I personally love the Casios' action (I've got a PX-320). But I'm not really sure if they are built for the road though. Mine stays at home. --Sean H. Yamaha MOXF8, Korg TR76, Novation X-Station 61, Casio PX-
Cloud_9
where did u find the availability date? Im guessing that the main selling point for this board are the 22lbs w/ WEIGHTED ACTION & 88 fatar keys. Man I hope they pull through with this board. timwat
Only place I found a date was this dealer in Australia - they note a 7/1/09 availability date: http://www.awave.com.au/product_info.php?products_id=3425 Whether that implies the same for US release I wouldn't know, I'm just guessing it does. .. Dana.
Sweetwater is now carrying the Akai MPK88, though there's an "unusually long shipping delay." $800. No info on size or weight.
