Jode
I'm thinking of buying a teeny-tiny little 4-track recorder - Portastudio, etc. - for around $100-$200. My partner has a Roland VS1680, so I don't need any serious gear, just something to take down ideas at the house (or elsewhere). Suggestions? "I had to have something, and it wasn't there. I couldn't go down the street and buy it, so I built it." Les Paul
Ed A.
You obviously have a computer, so why not get some free/cheap multitrack recording software like ProTools Free, Cubasis, Deck LE, etc?

Super 8
Are you talking about a cassette 4 track? The old Yamahas were nice. You could record 4 tracks at a time, and they supported FSK timecode I believe. Certainly were portable. You could probably get one for a very reasonable price these days as well.
