Slinky P
I've been given the task of (forced to) put together a band for a beach party this friday at my school. I've got 2 acoustic guitarists and a conga played cause no drummer wants to lug a set to sandy hook national park on a friday before we get invaded by tourists (bennys as us locals call em hope no one is offended) Anyway we are playing a few songs unrehearsed than jamming. We are gonna try to play songs people will sing to so they won't notice how bad we are. I'm just gonna have fun with it because I have an actual band. Any advice?I'll let anyone who wants to know how it goes. "there ain't no faux mojo" jcadmus

Kramer Ferrington III.
Do you have to play on the actual beach itself or can you have like a wall or something to bounce the sound a bit? I'm just wondering about projection and so on. The usual "beach party" thing consists of people singing quietly and sitting right up close to the guitar. I wonder if the conga player will drown out the guitarists? Band MySpace My snazzy t-shirt empire

Phil W
Something like this? Aaahhhh! Brasil! I love playing at the beach. I wouldn't want to play on the beach itself though, that sand gets everywhere. Where are you? Here is my lovely thread on beach gig stories: https://forums.musicplayer.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Board=5&Number=1791754&Searchpage=1&Main=130725&Words=beach&topic=0&Search=true#Post1791754 Here's a video of me at the beach. My shirt could have had it's own thread too! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o5C9dIl0jhI http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H8NghBMIAu4 The same video, for some reason it's been posted twice. http://philwbass.com
