Jazz+
Wynton Kelly is the most swinging jazz pianist ever! Wynton Kelly is best known as a member of Miles Davis's Quintet from 1959 to 1963. I have just uploaded 10 different compilations onto YouTube of rare Wynyton Kelly piano solos, they are excerpts from lesser heard sessions with Art Pepper, Blue Mitchell, Curtis Fuller, Hank Mobley, J.J. Johnson, Johnny Griffin, Paul Gonsalves, Sonny Rollins, and Joe Henderson : "Wynton Kelly Piano solos, #1-10 " http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=Wynton+Kelly+solos%2C+%23&search_type= . Harry Likas was the Technical Editor of Mark Levine's "The Jazz Theory Book" and helped develop "The Jazz Piano Book." Dave Ferris
Great job of putting all that together + ! I have a lot of those records but I saw a few I never knew existed. Do you own all of those? There are some rare ones that are worth big $$ to collectors. I have that first one on Blue Note where he plays Cherokee. He was so great...what can you say. https://soundcloud.com/dave-ferris https://www.youtube.com/@daveferris2709 2005 NY Steinway D, Yamaha AvantGrand N3X, CP88, P515
jsaras
Wynton Kelly was probably the only guy in the world who could play a "dotted eighth-sixteenth" swing feel and make it sound fantastic!
