I'm happy to have not made international travel plans that I'd have to cancel. So, Page is kind of a sloppy player live anyway, how do you think he'll play with a broken finger on the mend after not touching a guitar for 3 weeks?

Maybe his playing will improve after he heals up?

;)

Just kidding.

I LOVE Jimmy Page...and all his mistakes! :thu:

I really like his style...he attacks the guitar with passion, and no worries about being too meticulous and technically perfect.

And thats Rock & Roll!

Page played a tour with a broken finger before in the early 70's. I don't remember the details but it had something to do with a subway door.

I wonder how much his hands are insured for. I know my Brother, who is an Orthodontist has his insured for 2 million.

Peace

He'll be fine I'm sure. John Paul Jones is probably chomping at the bit.

Got an e-mail from Gibson about chance to win tickets to the show;

Really depends a lot on which finger, and on which hand. If it's his right pinky, then he's being a whimp!! LOL

Man if that knucklehead isn't burning his fingers he's going and breaking 'em!

Remember that early 70's incident when he burnt his hand and there was concert cancellation? Er...at least that's what I overheard some stoners sayin...

Just a pinch between the geek and chum

As long as it's not a fracture on the fretting hand. That could be tough.

Without knowing, I'd bet it's his right hand. Three weeks would not be a long time to heal, IF you'd have to fret with the healing digit.

I broke my thumb near the main nuckle. It took over a year for that dang thing to stop hurting. I was in a cast for 6 weeks, and a it still hurt like hell when ever I played for a long time at one sitting.

They way my cast was, I could pick with my thumb and ring finger. It was hell on the guitar. I would practice on some cheaper guitars I had at the time. I replace 3 pickguards.

Saw JP with Jason Bonham back on the Outrider-tour; great show, glad I caught that one. JP was aparently sick as a dog with the flu or something, as his 'handlers' rushed out while he was still on stage at the end of an encore to bundle him up in a sweater, coat, scarf, and hat, while he was speaking into a mic! He hoarsely explained (yhup, he wuz tha Hoarse Whisperer) ;):D that he had very nearly canceled that night's show, but that he was glad that he hadn't, as we were a fantastic audience and he'd had a great time...

His playing and tone were a lot better than many of the recordings and vids I've heard and seen- both legit and bootleg- and Jason Bonham was a real treat, to boot!

I'm sorry to read that he's hurt a finger in any way! I love a lot of his music...

Any of us could break our hands at any time if we fell the right way. I've managed to break an arm (a greenstick fracture, only requiring a sling) and an ankle (very painful, but I was back to work in a week on crutches.) So far my hands are OK, thank God!

Re Page being sloppy, well, when he was in practice he played well. I was never a big Zeppelin fan (mostly because of Robert Plant.. though I like him now), but I always thought Jimmy was a good creative player. To be honest, I like his acoustic playing a lot better than most of his electric stuff, but that's only my personal taste.

Clearly the man doesn't lack talent. If someone comes along with more technical finesse, so be it, but his playing always communicated something!

I went to a really fine med school. Apparently, I missed the classes on Billing and Investments :(

If doctors were so astute at these two endeavors, then, pray tell, why has Medicare and Insurance companies decreased what I get paid by over 75% in the past 18 years I've been in practice??

People should learn more about what is really happening in the health care system's financial side.

Then, think about life without your doctor. If medicare and insurance companies continue as they are now, you may not have a competent doctor, nor safe hospitals for long. And, wait until we become of "medicare age", and see if there are any benifets left for us.

What this has to do with Page breaking his finger, you'll have to tell us, Zub.

And now, back to our regularly scheduled B.S.!!

Don,

I am sorry you took them so serious. I was yanking your chain. Most of those comments came from doctor friends of ours joking around.

And yes, I know very well about the insurance industry because they effect my wife and my condition every day.

Anyone here who thinks I have something against Don, think again. I feel he is one of the finest members of this forurm that if I had a chance, I would go out of my may to hook up with and jam or hang out with.

Don, I am sorry you took my post that way, they weren't meant maliciously.

Peace!

Apology accepted, Zub. I work my ass off, and really care about my patients, and about doing good things. So, I suppose I do take it very personally.

But, I still love you!!!! LOL
