BillWelcome Home Studios
Hey, just thought that I would share the lyrics of song that won the heart of the fair maiden... We're getting married next month and I finally found the lost lyrics. I'm kinda old, and never thought that I'd get married, so it came as sort of a surprise. First marrage for both of us, alomst as if we waited to find each other. We almost broke up a year ago. We argued. She had gone out of town, and when she came back we both knew that we wanted to be together forever. I had written this while she was away, and I played it for her when she came back, and we got back together. Anyway, warning, surrupy swwwwweeeeet lyrics ahead. __________________________________________________ "The Best" Oh its been so long, Thought that Id be alone for the rest of my life.. ..and thats alright. You see, Ive been around so long, kinda missed my Sell By date. Then you came along, and now. I want to be next to you, to see your smiling face. Watch the sun rise in your eyes. Share each day we make. I want to watch over you And you watch over me. Share the best that we can be. Hey now, I know youve been lonely, too. And its hard to get along, And thats alright. You can rest a while, Put your weary burden down. You can close your eyes, Its alright. Because I am next to you, you can see my smiling face Watch the sun rise in my eyes We can share each breath we take. Im here to watch over you, You can watch over me. Well share the best that we can be. I know I tried to leave you, well Im just a stupid man. Im trying to make it up girl, every way I can. I hope you understand Here I am next to you, You are next to me. Here to share this life we live No matter what it brings. And Ill stay next to you And youll stay next to me Well share the best that we can be when I look into your eyes, girl Well share the best that we can be the sun comes shining through Well share the best that we can be.. Ill try to do my part To be the best, for you and me. "I believe that entertainment can aspire to be art, and can become art, but if you set out to make art you're an idiot." It is never too late and it is great you will have someone by your side as you move through the second half of your life. I got married late also and have had two kids. MILLO
CONGRATULATIONS! I bet the marriage and lady were worth the wait! I actually just got engaged 2 weeks ago, planning to wed May 2008. Can't believe I finally proposed.... but I have to say it's NOTHING like your story. You might think it's syrupy sweet but it's pretty awesome... it takes courage to open up and say stuff like that. Eric Iverson
Congrats! Yes I think the lyrics are sort of syrupy, but I am not hearing the music, and I'm not in love! Well, I DO still love my wife (21st wedding anniversary on May 2)... I don't write poems anymore though. Maybe I should write her a syrupy poem as an anniversary gift... I think she'd like it! Seriously, I wish you all the best, and that you have at least 21 years together!
fantasticsound
Congratulations, Bill! I'm sure she was bowled over by your song.. and that's all that really matters, isn't it? BTW - We'll all be expecting invitations to the wedding. Even better.. Hire the lot of us to provide music at the wedding and reception! I just have to ask.. Are you a big James Taylor fan too?
