The Captain
Anyone have the schematic for a Hampton 147 Relay (SSR-147) ? By the way, there's a guy on ebay selling the Hamptons for BIN $40. Mine worked flawlessly for four years until I toasted something during an amp rebuild. One side works correctly, the other side just "stays on". I was thinking of getting one of those Bob S relays, but read where you have to mod your preamp pedal because the light in the circuit interferes with the relay. The hampton works fine with my hampton combo preamp (and the hampton motor control that turns single speed motors into dual speed). A low cost solution is (gasp) radio shack omron sealed relays. Buy the relay and the plug-in-base. Solder the wires to base, so when the relay goes south just drop in another one. About $12 for the relay and the base. (for 147 you want 120vac DPDT. For 122, I believe you need DC). DISQUALIFIER: For safety's sake, assume I don't know what I'm talking about. That way, I cannot be blamed when you electrocute yourself... eric
Get in touch with Steve Hayes at Speakeasy or Bill Brown from BB Organ. Either one of these gents should be able to help you. I got a new relay for my 122 a few years back, but I honestly cannot remember which one. It is a solid state relay - either a Hampton or Carribean, IIRC.
