Guitarzan
some of you may have remembered i had opportunity to snag a 50 watt Marshall jcm800 combo but didn't have the cash. my buddy aquired it and it died shortly after. well last night it was brought back to life. just some loose wires on the input had caused some grief. it is now alive and well. what a sweet sound. can't wait to track some stuff with it. when i get the traynor up an running it should be a nice wall of dual guitar sound. ooh yeah , i can't wait. http://www.soundclick.com/bands/pagemusic.cfm?bandID=193274 rock it, i will
caprae
so did he sell it to you cheap because it died? Raise your children and spoil your grandchildren. Spoil your children and raise your grandchildren.
Guitarzan
i forgot to clarify, i had opportunity but didn't grab it. my buddy did and it died. but i am pleased it is alive for him, so he will avoid using that peavey bandit and Gt6. plus i can track with it on occasion. http://www.soundclick.com/bands/pagemusic.cfm?bandID=193274 rock it, i will

Guitarzan
i could have had it...... but it would have cost me a set of tires. and my freebies (4 sets every 5 years) from work wouldn't be available till jan 6 2006. and i want those for the Matrix. http://www.soundclick.com/bands/pagemusic.cfm?bandID=193274 rock it, i will
LPCustom
I'm with you on the sound of that JCM800 combo, Zan. If it sounds like the 2204 I had with the 1922 cab, then it sounds awesome. Hopefully your bud will let you borrow it from time to time. Born on the Bayou

zzzmon
Zan Decided to join the forum.Lots of good info in the studio/guitar areas. Just to clear up the issue with the revived marshall. The wires to the heater cct that are terminated by a screw on the standby switch were very loose,(the screw was practically backed right out),I "think" this was causing excess heat at the poor connection(and thus excess current flow),and always blowing one of the heater fuses. All is good now.Yeah! Check out gilbatron escapes at http://www.soundclick.com/bands/pagemusic.cfm?bandID=460857 p.s. Pink sends her love.
Dr. Ellwood
Great to have access to that old sweetheart!! ZZZ glad you are here man! I've owned the 800 heads before, now my son has it but never owned a 800 combo but I have heard them used and so so sweet there are! What are the speakers they are using in the combo..Green Backs or what??? ..LEE http://www.thestringnetwork.com
zzzmon
Yea they're Celestion G12M-70s all the way from England and man can they ever make a snare drum rattle!(not to mention loosening up your sinuses). The marshall was a little intimitating to play at loud volumes at first but I warmed up to real fast.It reminds me a little of the fender quad reverb combo a had many moons ago.I've been kickin my butt ever since I got rid of that amp(I paid a measley $150 cdn for it and sold it for $200.Boy was I stupid).
