  1. Felix Pappalardi was great! I heard him live with Mountain. What I want to know is, how did he end up being the producer of Disraeli Gears? It's a great album, but he only had produced one record before that. (and not a whole lot of other ones afterward)
  2. Do you make cds of all this stuff and try to sell them on CDbaby? You should, maybe you'd get a few bucks for all your efforts.
  3. I've got subwoofers for my computer. The bass sounds great. Sounding different than any other version is a good thing. Here's the original: [video:youtube] And here's the Rolling Stones version, pretty much a straight cover: [video:youtube]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lZT0yBsmfG0
  4. Interesting version of Walking the Dog, very different than all the other versions I've heard.
  5. There are now 14 pages of postings on this thread. There have been 20989 views of the various pages and 130 replies. I would say that this method is working fine. If we had a separate thread for each song, each thread still would drop off the bottom of the page in a day or two.
  6. That is great! Great playing, and nice sounding band! But as has been said before, if it is a demo, you are better off with four one minute songs than one four minute one. Most people just jump to the next song quickly when listening to demos.
  7. Cheap Shots (I'd like to see that on a marquee: Cheap Shots tonight!)
  8. We always play Di mezinke oysgegeben when the last daughter is married off. Here's a normal version: [video:youtube]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xHyWdue0fEA And here's a particularly loony version: [video:youtube]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y8SOxLGwh8U&feature=related
  9. I play Misirlou often with an Israeli band. It's always done as an instrumental. Phil, do have the Ladino lyrics? Our singer could sing them. He can sing in English, Hebrew, Yiddish, Ladino, and Arabic. Meanwhile, posting music can be to show playing and it can be to show compositions. I don't think anyone who posts here expects to get a gig by doing so (although it would be nice if someone bought a cd once in a while ).
  10. A whole forum just for posting music? I can see that there would be a lot of posts, but you'd have to be a masochist to listen to all of them.
  11. What? Isn't the thread for recordings enough? You can easily see that there's a new post.....in the column that says "posted", you see the name of the most recent poster and the date on which they posted. It could be that many people don't have time to listen to every recording and if they do, they don't feel a need to comment. You could start a Linkedin thread on "listen to my recording", although I think that even fewer people would listen and comment there.
  12. OK, now I'm being brave. Here's a song my brother wrote. I'm playing all the instruments (acoustic guitar, electric guitar, clarinet, and a few basses) and singing. Not your run-of-the-mill song. [video:youtube]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G1t8U3bO7ac&feature=youtu.be
  13. Wally, you should be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame! Meanwhile, here are few videos of me with unknown musicians. (well, I know them, but you don't) (and the second video was the first time I had ever met the drummer and I haven't seen him since.) [video:youtube] [video:youtube] [video:youtube]
  14. Bubble Bobble! My son (about age 5) played that game constantly. I think he got up to about 4,000,000 points. Of course the game wasn't designed to go that far, so weird glitches started happening as the score got higher. Of course I had to play too and I got up to a million. We still have the Commodore 64 and the game (and hundreds of others) in a box in the garage. Thanks for the memories. Now I'll have the song buzzing around in my head for months.
