  1. Second SS to arrive today. Time for some testing if weather allows. I plan to set up outside my home And experiment with placement And listen.
  2. But, with the SS now every room can handle stereo! (Sorry couldn't resist)
  3. The SS is a game changer for me when it comes to Compact sound coverage. I have to agree that this isn't going to be like sitting In your ez chair right dead center of the sweet spot Of a high end system or just a well placed system in a great room. In terms of seperation. As I wondered if it did,. Some might find that disapointing. But, it does cover a space like no other system I have heard. And this little bitch is tiny for what it can do. I had the Bose and it sounded okay and covered well too. But, nothing like this. I disagree respectfully that it's just an amp. A mono amp, is just an amp! Go back to using just an amp And tell me how it works out for ya and then , think? This(SS)is just an amp? I mean no disrespect to your opinion and please take no offense To it. As this is just my opinion thus far. With more time maybe I'll think the Same?
  4. FYI; spent most the day receiving and spot checking the latest SS3 run which landed at my doorstep around noon, and which I was able to turn around to Sweetwater by 3:30pm. They are on the truck to Indiana as I write this. So SW should be filling those back orders by the end of next week! Aspen, Thanks for the update! Many anticipating there first SS No longer will they be virgins! They'll want use it all the time! Any time of the day and in different positions!
  5. So,when does the Spacestation portable home stereo system come out?
  6. FWI, I've experienced some rf noise static and ringinging when I use my Mackie DL1608 into the SS. The only thing that worked on the Gig was pluging my mixer into another circut. But, today I was just testing the unit again with my mixer and The noise was back. I remembered I had a HumX hanging around that didn't work that well for 60 cycle. So, I tried this. And low and behold the noise was gone! At first with the speaker and also with the mixer. So, I will be keeping this on My mixer where ever I go. They are not cheap but, it is working. This is the unit: http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/HumX
  7. Only..everything is direct. Not a band but,a duo, with backing tracks two guitars and two vocals. So,it is very speaker dependant with no other support Such as live drums and amps.
  8. Fellas, Part of my dispairity is that I haden't found much in the form of answers To lead me to purchase a second SS for what I believe I would need To reenforce my sound on some of my outside jobs that have a lot Of open space to fill. I Would prefer to not have different systems For different venues as I am satisfed for the smaller indoor jobs w/SS Wanting to fill the space with the SS was the proto for the 2 unit system. So, I am not the most patient man on the universe. And a 2nd purchase Was pending and I wanted it to be the right plan. As I have an other system That I would like to replace. But, I am taking an unknown journey here.kinda like this: I might not forum material I guess even though I Do like humor I wanted To get things in place and ideas.I was just trying to get real input on some Questions that maybe I could learn from others experiences with this. Since I've only had 2 jobs I've used this on. Like to explore every possibuility So, maybe some questions didn't make sense or were ever too obvious A negatave on that idea! So, I'll kep working on this when I get my second unit. Thanks
  9. I will have to this one out no one is using 2 of these together except limited time With Aspen and even he isn't quite sure What results might be I'll just look and not get involved here Thanks
  10. Sorry I thought this could be a place To get answers i wont ask anymore questions
  11. That's funny but, it wasn't quite what I had in mind. I'll figure it out. Thanks
  12. Sorry to change subject, but I used the SS this afternoon and the experience from My first Was much more possitave than the gig I had on Friday. My original partner for the duo was back and he was pretty happy About the sound and his words were " I kinda like the down size Set up"I had others say they could hear it outside as well and it didn't sound muffled there it was as clear as inside.
  13. Mak, The problem and the struggle is more than likely the room. You'll have to adjust differently in different spaces. No different than a Trad. P.A. Everytime I play out in a different space it varies some what. Sometimes it's great and sometimes I can't figure it out . You have to Also figure the people that come and go and there crowd noise that's Added. This won't be the case in your bedroom. My partner had this issue When he played his Kemper amp through the SS. Hang in there.
  14. SinceI I put this SS and Ev sub in a corner. It was pretty much hidden from view Especially vs speaker stands hiding our faces. So, this was a nice change In a small space.a really nice look. It felt more like were just playing in an open space instead of staring at the side of speaker cabinets and our feet partitioned By monitors!
  15. So, I had a chance to use on a first gig. Small winery inside. I set the SS on top of an EV ZXA1 sub. From a mackie DL1608. The sub was out an aux. and the mains to the SS and set an eq filter 24db oct. At 100hz . The results were great in terms of being able to hear and spread The sound through the room. I use midi backing tracks for keys, drums, bass. My Kemper/Parker sounded good as well as vocals. i had a fill in Player on guitar and he also has a Kemper. He wasn't as satisfied with his sound. He uses alot of effects on his guitar.(wet) I had the width around 12/ up 2 oclock where I found it worked well. I don't drown my guitar in fx. I like the tone to cut through the mix. So,no problem for me. The only thing I think needs some work is the eq. The SS mids sound A little forward and a bit harsh to my ears. But, I think it's promising. Just a question unknown: On using two units, What happens if you were to send out of a mixer To one SS left in and send the right out to another SS on it's right input? I wonder how that would work? Either stacked or spread on each side? For small rooms one is fine but, larger gigs I think I need reenforcement. It would be nice to expand using the SS vs Traditional cabs. Thanks!
  16. Has ANYONE ever used TWO of these in a system,in any confiquration? As reenforcement or otherwise? Thanks!
  17. Just an FYI. If you've tred to reach Aspen. He has had some email/server issues Including his site. So if you have tried to get a reply or answer That was an issue for him. I am sure he'll help you as soon as he is up to Normal. I'm not his messanger or anyting. I just thought I'd throw that out there To help out.
  18. Start a charity. because what I hear it would be a worthy cause!
  19. Front of house? I would be using this as a part of or my pa. I have A duo with backing tracks. So, are you playing all music through yours or just Your instrument? I am having a hard time trying to figure out How I want to set this up? I have 4 speakers cva28's I use two for most gigs and a sub, either The Ev zxa1 or the kw181 for larger events and 2 more of the cva28's So, i have this and I am trying to figure out do I want to Add the SS somewhere in this or use it on it's own w a sub? I have some experimenting to do. I also have a pair of cheap Behringer powered euro 8/horns I 've used for monitors. I would love for at least small gigs to use just a sub and the SS to cover the gig. I have one coming. Soon.
  20. How does the bass combo sound compaired to something like the behringer? Does it push enough air? I like that look with the all black.
  21. I have a QSC KW181 for larger jobs and an Ev ZXA1 sub for smaller events. That's covered. But you still need the coverage/power/ distance On tops and mids. *Non the less, I am excited to get this. Should be fun to explore what it can do. Aspen has been very patient with me and my emails and has gone beyond What most company support teams have ever done for me. And he's one guy!? That says alot! How he keeps up is beyond me. I hope he gets sleep!
  22. I've read this but, it says of course you can use two but, the effect might be diminished. So, I'm trying to see if anyone has tried anything else, experimented with two. By spacing? such as at distances? Other?..It does say if you are using for different information,Such as vocals in one and instruments in the another. It seems most feedback Here has more to do with small/med.indoor venues more w/ keyboardist or individuals. So, NO one has tried two in any form? This is what I am after. I need for a larger outdoors gig enough power to do the job. I find it hard to believe this possible w one of these. No worries for the smaller Indoor jobs. Based on what I have looked at thus far. Maybe it needs more time and it looks like most here are only using one. Sorry for the rant. Thanks for all your input! Trevor
